About Us

 

 LUU Dance Band at Weddings

The LUU Dance Band is a 22 piece Big Band,who play a wide variety of dance band/big band repertoire including swing, funk, jazz and Sinatra.
 
We perform at prestigious music venues in Leeds, such as the Wardrobe and Hi-fi Club. The band is also available to hire for functions such as society balls, weddings and parties.
 
The band makes a regular appearance at the Leeds universities Summer Ball at the end of the year and we go on a tour to the south of France ever Easter..
 
Auditions for the band are at the beginning of every academic year and we invite trumpeters, trombonists, saxophonists, rhythm section musicians and vocalists to try out for the band. This year auditions will be held on 23rd-25th September. You can sign up for an audition by visiting us at fresher's fayre on the 20th September! Help with clubs and societies.

If you need help regarding your club and society, the Development Coordinators, who work in the Union's ARC (the Activities and Resource Centre), provide support, advice and help with all student activities.
